(IRVING, TX) – Forterra, a manufacturer of water and drainage pipe and products, today announced that it has acquired affiliated companies Bio Clean Environmental Services, Inc. (“Bio Clean”) and Modular Wetland Systems, Inc. (“Modular Wetlands”). The entities offer a broad range of storm water quality and biofiltration technologies that filter pollutants and remove sediment in accordance with local standards. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The purchase includes the Modular Wetlands product line and all related intellectual property. For Forterra, this acquisition complements its drainage pipe and products business.

Adds Market Leadership in Ductile Iron Pipe and Related Products

U.S. Pipe is North America's leading provider of ductile iron pipe products for water distribution and water management applications in North America and a leader in fittings, joint restraints and other related products. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With 20 manufacturing and fabrication facilities throughout the United States and Mexico and the leading brand among distributors, contractors and engineers, U.S. Pipe adds a valuable new growth platform and expanded capabilities to Forterra. U.S. Pipe's complementary portfolio of products strategically augments Forterra's existing suite of concrete and steel pressure pipe solutions. Combined, Forterra and U.S. Pipe will serve a broad customer base across the residential, commercial and infrastructure landscape with diameters of pipe ranging from 3" up to 144" and a complete solution set with which to serve customer needs from the first mile to the last mile of water transmission and distribution networks.

Acquisition of regional powerhouse Sherman-Dixie represents the next step in Forterra's strategic growth plan

(IRVING, TX) – Forterra ("Forterra"), a multinational manufacturer of concrete and clay building products, today announced that it has acquired Sherman-Dixie Concrete Industries, a leading producer of precast concrete structures operating eight facilities in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Indiana. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Forterra, which has operations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, employs approximately 6,000 people across an extensive network of 130 facilities. This acquisition will leverage Sherman-Dixie's strong presence in the Southeastern United States to significantly expand Forterra's capacity and capabilities in an attractive and growing market.

(IRVING, TX) – Forterra has announced the appointment of Ed Sexe as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Forterra Structural and Specialty Products (formerly Structural Precast). The newly created division will be responsible for Forterra's structural precast businesses in Alabama, Idaho and Utah and for growing sales of all specialty products. Previously Ed was employed at Cretex Concrete Products for over 20 years and held the position of Vice President for a six state region. Ed holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University. He is a Professional Engineer registered in the States of Kansas and Missouri. Prior to working for Cretex Concrete Products, Ed worked as Project Engineer for Bartlett & West Engineers in Topeka, Kansas, and for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a Design Engineer.

Leading building materials manufacturer rebrands with a new name and a fresh, forward-thinking look and feel.

(IRVING, TX) – Hanson Building Products has changed its name to Forterra following the recent sale of the company. The new name reflects the company's strength, its focus on the future, and its continued dedication to providing premier products and services. The name Forterra captures the company's essence and purpose – giving form (For-) to the earth (-terra).

The company will continue to operate its five U.S. and Canadian divisions—Pressure Pipe, Pipe & Precast, Structural Precast, Brick, and Roof Tile—as well as its Building Products division in the United Kingdom, and plans to continue production of all existing product lines through its more than 130 facilities.

(IRVING, TX) – Hanson Building Products has announced the appointment of Matt Brown as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Brown joins Hanson from U.S. Concrete, where he has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2012. While at U.S. Concrete, Matt helped drive increases of over 300 percent in shareholder value, 400 percent in EBITDA and overhauled the company’s capital structure to allow for greater liquidity and financial flexibility. Matt also oversaw the execution of seventeen acquisitions representing $246 million in deal value during his tenure at U.S. Concrete. Prior to U.S. Concrete, Matt held two senior leadership roles at Drummond Company, an international coal producer. While at Drummond, Matt served as the company’s Treasurer and Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. Matt also served as the company’s Treasurer. Prior to Drummond, Matt served in the investment banking department of Citigroup Global Markets Inc., including as a Vice President in the basic industries coverage group.
